American Battery Technology Company (OTCMKTS: ABML) is up over 30% on Monday on close to $10 million in dollar volume after the Company announced they have discovered the largest known lithium deposits in the US at its Tonopah Flats Lithium Project in Big Smoky Valley, Nevada. Third-party audited analysis estimates inferred resource of 15.8 million tons of lithium carbonate equivalent. The ABTC Tonopah Flats Lithium Project encompasses 517 unpatented lode claims covering approximately 10,340 acres, and ABTC controls 100% of the mining lode claims comprising the Tonopah Flats property and the rights to all locatable subsurface minerals without any royalties.
This is big news for ABML which is uniquely positioned to supply low-cost, low-environmental impact, and domestically sourced battery metals through its three divisions: lithium-ion battery recycling, primary battery metal extraction technologies, and primary resources development. With two former Tesla executives on its team, ABML is building out its first-of-its-kind lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Fernly, Nevada nearby to Tesla’s Giga Factory. The stock has a storied history on the bulletin boards and was one of the biggest runners of early 2021 skyrocketing to highs near $5 per share as well as spiking to $1.75 in April of 2022 before the drop to current levels. American Battery Technology Company (OTCMKTS: ABML) is an advanced technology, first-mover lithium-ion battery recycling and primary battery metal extraction company that utilizes internally developed proprietary technologies to produce domestically-sourced battery grade critical and strategic metals at substantially lower cost and lower environmental impact than current conventionally sourced battery metals. The Company has it all from Recycling, Novel Extraction Technologies, to Primary Resource Development.
The Tonopah Flats deposit is comprised of lithium-rich sedimentary claystone with negligible work index and abrasion, and readily disaggregates when suspended in water. Leaching trials were carried out in-house by ABTC using statistically representative homogenized bulk samples, and these trials demonstrated that over 90% of lithium can be leached from the claystone within a few hours. To further validate and optimize these metallurgical and mineral processing techniques, ABTC summarized the results of its bench scale trials for the manufacturing of battery grade lithium hydroxide specifically from these Nevada-based claystone materials in a $4.5M proposal to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO).
Due to the positive results from these bench scale validations, the ABTC team applied for a second round of U.S. DOE funding in the Spring of 2022 to further evolve this project and to construct a commercial scale lithium hydroxide refinery utilizing this system design and the bench and pilot scale results from the initial program. In October 2022, ABTC with its partners, DuPont Water Solutions, University of Nevada, Reno, and Argonne National Laboratory, was notified that its proposal for its $115M commercial scale refinery project was selected for funding. ABTC is now in the process of detailed construction design for this commercial scale lithium hydroxide refinery based on these fundamental metallurgical and mineral processing techniques.
“We are extremely pleased with the results of our Resource Report for our Tonopah Flats Lithium Project,” commented Scott Jolcover, ABTC Chief Mineral Resource Officer. “Our team mobilized quickly to accomplish several initial key steps to mature this resource. There are several steps remaining to pursue as we progress the project and we are moving forward with recommended next steps to advance the project through the feasibility stage.”

ABTC has it all from Recycling, Novel Extraction Technologies, to Primary Resource Development. The Comapny has developed a universal lithium-ion battery recycling system that separates and recovers each individual elemental metal, including lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese from end-of-life batteries including consumer electronics, stationary storage applications, and electric vehicles, as well as from defects and waste from battery manufacturing facilities. ABTC operates a Research Development Center, located at the University of Nevada Reno’s Nevada Center for Applied Research (NCAR) and within the cleantech incubator Greentown Labs, the Company’s team of in-house scientists develop and evolve ABTCs extraction technologies. ABTC is also designing an internally-developed processing train for the manufacturing of battery cathode grade lithium hydroxide from its Nevada-based sedimentary claystone resources near Tonopah. The Company’s novel method allows for significantly lower consumption of acid, lower levels of contaminants in generated leach liquor, and lower overall costs of production.
ABTC Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Plant – In the spirit of using first-of-its-kind innovation to face unprecedented demand and environmental issues, ABTC’s Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Pilot Plant in Fernley, Nevada has been purpose-designed to function with high yields and low emissions. A project led by a team of experts in their respective fields, the Plant will be the first commercial demonstration of our closed-loop battery recycling process, separating and recovering critical materials from end-of-life batteries and purifying the products to meet battery grade material specifications. The plant will consist of three functional building areas totaling approximately 100,000 square feet of floor space, with 60,000 square feet dedicated to production. The new building spaces include a production building, an office building with laboratories, and a finished goods warehouse. ABTC is also planning to build a universal waste storage facility in Fernley, and a hazardous waste storage facility in nearby McCarran, Nevada in Storey County at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC). Recently ABTC completed the construction of its battery recycling facility and is now moving into the installation and commissioning of the Company’s processing and utility equipment. The company has also increased its investment in research and development.

Currently trading at a $269 million market valuation ABML OS is 648,553,448. The Company is fully reporting OTCQB with a strong balance sheet and very well-funded as ABML is backed by numerous government and DOE grants. Last year the Company estimated revenue from its lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Fernly, Nevada will be $200 million per year once completed however the price of Lithium has risen dramatically since than as ABTC completes construction and is now moving into the installation and commissioning of the Company’s processing and utility equipment. As we said ABML spiked to highs near $5 in 2021 and hit $1.75 earlier this year and is currently under heavy accumulation as long term holders average down seeing current price levels ($0.40) as low as ABML will ever go.
